Arthur Cox is delighted to offer a great on site gym to employees. This state of the art facility has an excellent range of both Cardio Vascular and Resistance Training equipment. In addition to the equipment we will be running a number of fitness and mindbody classes weekly.

HOW TO JOIN

In order to join, you must take a 40 minute induction course.

To get started all you have to do is set up an account on the booking system.

Please follow these simple steps:

Go to 'New to our site' - then enter your full name, click next and complete the screening & release forms.

Click the 'Join the Gym' tab across the top and you will see the times when the Gym Inductions are on the timetable for you to book into.  Select a time that suits.

Once you complete your induction you will be free to use the gym or book in for a tailored fitness plan and or any of the classes available.
Please note: You do not need to be changed into gym gear for the induction.

TAILORED FITNESS PROGRAMMES

(PLEASE NOTE: Everyone is entitled to a tailored fitness programme once every 6-8 weeks.)

What is a tailored fitness programme?

This is an individualised exercise programme that matches your needs based on your goals, exercise experience and health history.

Our experienced wellness coaches can provide you with the specific programmes you need to maximise your results. Our fitness training regimes are built by us...for you.

What does the session look like?

We start with gathering your information and listening to your story. We help you to set specific targets and goals. We then decide on what assessment procedure will suit and document a starting point.

Our assessment procedure generally includes:

  • Height & weight
  • Taking your body fat using Bioelectrical Impendence Analysis
  • Girth measurements and hip to waist ratio
  • Flexibility and movement screen to look for any imbalances we may need to address

We then take you into the gym to demonstrate each exercise we select for you. You then perform it yourself so we can make sure you are completing it with the correct technique and weight load. We will explain progression, and make sure you know the exact format of your programme.

We recommend you refresh your programme every 6-8 weeks with us to ensure you are always progressing.

This session takes 60 minutes.

Iyengar yoga focuses on precision, depth, and restorative powers.

Everyone can practice Iyengar yoga - This safe method of working can be adjusted to the needs and ability of the participant regardless of age, stiffness, or other perceived limitation.

It allows for very dynamic work through to a more considered, slow-paced practice. Working within the Iyengar method increases not only strength and flexibility but increases the student’s ability to focus, observe, and relax.

SUPER CIRCUITS/ STENGTH & CONDITIONING

Circuit training is the ultimate total health and fitness body conditioning class! Combining body weight exercises and resistance training set up in stations, circuits will help you lose weight, tone up and completely transform your body.

MET CON

A "Met Con" Provides a high intensity workout using a combination of strength/resistance training methods with anaerobic conditioning exercises.

Post session the metabolism can remain in an elevated state for up to 48 hours, this means your body continuously burns fat throughout the day even after you stop exercising.

Metabolic Conditioning Classes are perfect for burning fat and getting you into Peak Condition!

PILATES MAT

Pilates mat classes focus on developing core strength, flexibility, balance and stamina.

The instructor presents the exercises at multiple levels which allows students to choose to work at a beginning, intermediate, or advanced pace.

Students learn to be aware of breathing patterns and spinal alignment while engaging the deep muscles of the core.

Various props (e.g. flex bands, foam rollers, rings, light weights, and balls) are incorporated to enhance and intensify the workout. No previous Pilates experience is necessary to join a mat class

CONDITIONING TRX & BELLS

One of our most popular classes, this is a vigorous conditioning class.

Combining suspension (TRX) and kettlebells training in varying timed intervals to ensure you are pushed to your limits.

VINYASA FLOW YOGA

VFY combines body-toning rounds of Sun Salutations with strong standing poses, blending the benefits of flexibility, tone and strength.

This flowing practice will tap into your fat-burning cardiovascular capabilities while chiseling and defining your arms, chest, abs, legs and butt.

We still save time at the end for relaxation and breathing so you will feel calm, tranquil and rejuvenated.

Taking this session will only help to improve your flexibility which will complement your strength and conditioning sessions!

BODY CUT

Designed to strengthen, tone and sculpt the body in the shortest amount of time possible, Body Cut combines ultra-modern, cutting-edge choreographed barbell exercises and dumbell training that target the major muscle groups.

We vary the weight loads used to produce a prized lean body and great muscle conditioning. If you’re looking for real results fast then Body Cut is the class for you!

PILATES FUSION

Pilates fusion classes focus on developing core strength, flexibility, balance and stamina.

Focusing on strengthening, toning and improving flexibility for your body will result in a functionally strong and balanced body.

This popular contemporary mix of Pilates, Yoga  & fitness exercises is a truly fantastic cross trainer for athlete & cardo junkies!

This will be a mixed ability class so all levels are welcome.

Various props (e.g. flex bands, light weights, and balls) are incorporated to enhance and intensify the workout.

No previous Pilates experience is necessary to join this class.

PERSONAL TRAINING AND HEALTH COACHING

PLEASE NOTE: This is a chargeable service. All fees are paid online and sessions are arranged outside the hours the trainer is on shift. You must attend an induction first before you may book in for any personal sessions.

We’re here for you! Our 1:1 training services are all about you with our undivided attention. Our programmes are designed to meet your needs whether you travel or just have a constantly changing life. We get it.

Our team of qualified Person Trainers are well equipped to guide and work with you on your fitness journey.

The initial consultation will take 60 minutes and each session thereafter 45 mins.

COST- Special Offer

€50 for a single session or €450 for 10 sessions to be used within 8 weeks.

GENERAL HOUSE RULES / GYM ETIQUETTE

  • Arthur Cox and Fit For Life shall not be liable to any person for any damage or injury however caused arising from the presence in or use of the gymnasium.
  • If you are unsure of your medical wellbeing, or if you have a recent injury, please consult your doctor before using this facility.
  • If you feel breathless or dizzy, stop using the equipment immediately.
  • In the case of an accident or problem with the machinery, please contact the gym manager at acgym@arthurcox.com
  • Medical questions should be directed to any first aider listed. A list of first aid qualified people in the building is located above the water cooler in the gym.
  • In the event of an accident you must complete an ACCIDENT REPORT FORM (these forms are with the gym manager so please email acgym@arthurcox.com to get a form) and submit this to Facilities.

SHOWERING FACILITIES

  • There are roughly 15 showers in total (7 x Males and 8 x Ladies).
  • Temperature settings can be controlled individually.
  • Shower heads are on a sliding rail allowing for flexibility.
  • Each shower will have a shelf and a dual dispenser for shampoo & soap.
  • Hairdryers & hair straighteners will be provided in the ladies and gents.

TOWELLING SERVICE

The two main changing areas will be equipped with a towelling service.

  • Towels will be collected & refreshed throughout the day.
  • Collection & drop off points for towels will be upon entry and exit.
  • We would like to remind staff that these towels are for the use of all staff so please only take as many as you actually need, leave them back in the baskets for cleaning and don’t take them home.

Stereo

There is a stereo for your convenience, this system works on blue tooth or there is a cable available for you to plug your device in to. Please do respect others using the gym at the same time and make sure everyone in the gym at the time is happy with the music selection.

Other things to remember

  • There are disinfect wipes provided for you to wipe down the equipment after you have used it.
  • Please always carry a towel and wipe down the equipment after use
  • When using the mats, free weights or any equipment please replace to the correct area.
  • No food should be brought into the gym at any time.
  • Use the correct footwear at all times, do not work out in the gym in bare feet.
  • It is mandatory to wear flip flops in the shower for hygiene/safety purposes.
  • Please keep the gym and changing rooms tidy at all times.
